Managed to sneak in a bit of Christmas photographs between a lot of other things happening this week…
Yearly archives for 2011
Pushkar, Rajasthan
I have written about this trip earlier here, and some pictures were also posted in Flickr, however after my FlickrPro account expired and I decided to continue with the free one, these photographs are no longer available on Flickr.
Some photographs from a trip to the Holy Towns of Pushkar and Ajmer…

A quote stressing the fact that effort has to work with luck! It translates to “luck can give you flour but not make bread for you…“

An interesting arrangement here… An empty chair, however the man in the picture chooses to let it be and sit on the pavement!

This is the Ajmer Sharif Dargah! What I love about Mosques and Gurudwaras is that you cannot enter them (or atleast the instructions say so) without washing your hands and feet.

Getting three generations in one single photograph is always a pleasure!

There was something very intriguing about this little girl. So engrossed in her own world!
Here is the entire album for you….

Kabir ke Dohe
A few days ago I had posted about Kabir by Abeeda…Have been listening to that album a lot, and today was listening to Kabir by Jagjit Singh..
While listening to Abida was a soulful experience, when I hear Kabir by Jagjit, its more calm and peaceful! The same words, but such a different experience and feeling… Here are a few words that I captured while I was listening to the album…
Coach Carter
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Coach Carter (2005)
I love sports related movies, and don’t remember not liking any that I saw ever… Coach Carter is another addition to the list… must watch for its truthfulness, and the non romantic-ness.
Toy Story
There were two little girls!
Who had a lovely lion for a friend! The lovely Lion used to take good care of them, and keep them happy!
But the girls grew up very quickly and moved away to their own places with their princes! And the lion was left along with a Monkey messenger! This monkey messenger was a good friend of the Lion but used to travel often for work! The Lion told the monkey about his problem and that he missed his friends!
The monkey messenger did not know what to do, and he had to travel again for work, but this time on his visit to a town, he met his another good friend Zuper Zebra who also missed his friends after they were gone from the town!
The Monkey Messenger asked the Zuper Zebra to come with him to his town, and meet a friend! When Zuper Zebra came to the town, he met Lovely Lion and became good friends!
This made Messenger Monkey very happy as now he had two great friends with him in the same town… and both them used to love hanging out with each other too!
p.s. Most characters are from the movie Madagascar (in case you’ve not seen the movie yet! Really? Go watch it first thing today!)

Kabir (कबीर) by Abida (आबिदा)
Have been listening to the album Kabir by Abida today, and am loving it… Gulzaar Sahab introducing every song is a treat to the ears as well!
Here are some verses that I loved and managed to write while listening..
मन लागो यार फकीरी में…
